Winter holidays in Alta Badia in the heart of the Dolomiti Superski ski carousel, the biggest ski carousel in the world are synonymous for skiing, snowboarding, telemarking, freeriding, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and much more. The cable car facilities are located in the vicinity of Hotel Cavallino. The Santa Croce slope is only 100 metres from the hotel so you can basically leave the hotel on skis. The Alta Badia ski resort offers ideal snow conditions with modern, comfortable, fast and safe cable cars throughout the winter. Thanks to the size of the ski area skiing is very safe. From Piculin, a harbour of San Martino in Badia, you can also reach the Plan de Corones ski resort via San Vigilio di Marebbe without having to take your skis off. Not to forget: some of the most famous and beautiful routes in the Dolomites: the "Sella Round", a ski tour around the Sella Mountain, and the "Round tour of World War 1", which leads along the Dolomite front around Col di Lana, a symbol of World War I in the Dolomites between 1915 and 1918. Every year in December the giant slalom of the Ski World Cup takes place on the Gran Risa slope.
